ABOUT SEA CHANGE

Sea Change is Ocean County, NJ's recovery community organization and harm reduction center. Please review our website for details about our work. With intentional strategy and lived experience, we create greater health equity, human dignity, and mutual respect. By building power to de-stigmatize and end the devastating addiction and overdose crisis, we are pushing back on the “war on drugs” that has systematically stigmatized, criminalized, and isolated people who use drugs or struggle with Substance Use Disorder. We support all people in self-directed recovery, offering various tools and resources within and outside our organization.

ABOUT THE NEW JERSEY RESOURCE PROJECT

Our values:

  1. We believe that people who use drugs and who struggle with addiction have a right to access healthcare that meets them where they are at, is evidence-based, affordable, and empowers them to live healthier lives.

  2. We believe that there should be transparency, accountability, oversight and enforcement around how NJ spends money to address the overdose crisis. Addiction treatment and recovery programs, recovery houses, and drug courts receiving state and federal funding should center on providing dignity and compassionate care to people who struggle with substance use.

  3. We believe in community leadership, meeting people where they are, and not leaving anyone behind. When it counts, we come together as good neighbors - across rural, urban and suburban - because together we can tackle what we can’t alone.
